7D2D has a feature, where you cannot build unrealistic structures, and your base must be structurally sound, or your building will collapse. When, and if zombies do reach it to your base, they will eventually overtime compromise the structural integrity of your base.
This includes, destroying anything obstructing their path, and finding the path of least resistance. The zombies of 7D2D, are relentless foes, doing whatever they can to get inside of your base and kill you. Lighting no longer has any effect on zombies (or at least they still run at night if you shine a flashlight at them or place a torch I not sure about power or toughness but it probably doesn't work on that either.
Thanks to Clifford for the updates to this page.
Works well for hordes, even without electricity items/traps.Here are some 7 Days to Die hints, tips and tricks by Centinal. Can be really useful as otherwise it’s easy to get killed in your own spike corridor if zombies surprise you in there 🙂 Extra “appendix” with door/ladder/hatch so you can temporarily divert zombies while you go down and replace the main corridor spikes. Else zombies will not want to go through the base to get to you. Make sure there’s a path to wherever you are in the base. Door placement can be important, but keep them open so the zeds have a way to path through!. Flagstone maybe, but keep key parts to cobble for the HP. The base utilizes the new Alpha 17 Zombie AI and pathfinding, where zombies attempt to take the path of “least resistance” and end up going through spikes, barbed wire, but avoids bashing blocks unless there is no path to the player. Start with flagstone and cobblestone, upgrade to concrete, the concept remains the same. We do this in a way that makes it an expandable concept, where you can start slow and then add on as you gather more resources and tech up for better blocks. We look at building a Starter Base in Alpha 17 of 7 Days to Die.
